The Michigan Public Service Commission has approved DTE Energy’s application for the Cold Creek Solar Park in Branch County, a $194 million facility with a 100-megawatt capacity. This project is part of a historic agreement with Ford Motor Company, aiming to provide 100% carbon-free electricity to Ford’s Michigan manufacturing plants. The solar park is expected to be fully operational by late 2026, generating substantial tax revenue for Branch County and contributing to grid resilience and cleaner energy sources.
