Starting today (April 1), China’s important energy corridor, the Daqin Railway, has begun a 30-day spring intensive maintenance project. This will restore the performance of line equipment to support high-load operation for ensuring winter coal supply, laying the groundwork for energy transportation during the peak summer demand period. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day, the Daqin Railway will suspend all trains on the entire line, carrying out three-dimensional inspections and upgrades of line components and systems including steel rails, sleepers, switches, ballast, as well as the power supply overhead contact network, signal equipment, and communications fiber-optic cables. The China Railway Taiyuan Bureau will coordinate departments including transportation, dispatching, and locomotive operations, optimize transportation plans, and refine transportation organization to ensure coordinated advancement of Daqin Railway operations and the construction works. Through measures such as improving the quality of the day-shift plan, strengthening loading and unloading organization, and accelerating locomotive and rolling-stock turnover, it aims to ensure that during the intensive maintenance period, the daily freight volume reaches 1 million tons.
