There are reports that Meizu will soon undergo personnel restructuring, with an expected departure of over 50% of employees, involving approximately 400 people. Some of the remaining staff will be integrated into Meizu’s Flyme automotive team, while others will shift to AI software. In response, Meizu stated: “Meizu is in a critical period of comprehensive strategic transformation, shifting from traditional hardware-driven development to AI-driven software and service innovation.” The organizational personnel adjustments based on this strategic shift are considered normal industry development. Aside from suspending domestic new smartphone hardware R&D projects, the company’s overseas mobile business, AI glasses smart hardware business, and PANDAER trendy tech brand operations are all functioning normally.
