I just saw in the group that they’re talking about re-staking/shared security again. Basically, it’s “reusing the same collateral as security over and over.” The returns look like stacking blocks, but the risk keeps getting stacked too. I’m kind of allergic to people who treat an APY screenshot as their faith… When yields stack up, don’t accidentally stack your own delusions as well: have you understood the forfeiture rules? Who will arbitrate? If something goes wrong, is it “everyone on the whole network gets blamed,” or “you alone get blamed”?
By the way, the main chain is also set for an upgrade and maintenance, right? Everyone’s guessing whether the ecosystem projects will migrate. My first reaction isn’t to ask which chain they’ll migrate to, but this: if the underlying layer wobbles, does that shared security layer count as a moat—or does it turn into a domino?
Anyway, I’ll move less for now. I’d rather miss a bit of sweetness than bite into glass shards.
