ME News Report, April 6 (UTC+8), according to AXIOS, four sources familiar with the negotiations from the United States, Israel, and the region revealed that the U.S., Iran, and a group of regional mediators are discussing terms for a potential 45-day ceasefire agreement that could ultimately end the war. The sources said that the likelihood of reaching a partial agreement within the next 48 hours is low, but this final effort is the only chance to prevent a sharp escalation of the war. The 10-day deadline set by President Trump for Iran was originally due to expire on Monday evening. However, Trump extended the deadline by 20 hours on Sunday and posted a new cutoff time on his social media platform “Truth Social”: Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. On Sunday, Trump told AXIOS that the U.S. is engaged in “intensive negotiations” with Iran and said that an agreement could be reached before his final deadline on Tuesday. (Source: PANews)
