The DoubleZero protocol, a high-speed fiber optic network specifically designed for blockchain traffic, launched its mainnet-beta on Thursday, simultaneously unveiling a public utility token to control the network.

The decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) of DoubleZero currently has over 70 direct high-speed connections between 25 geographical locations, enabling blockchain data to be transmitted directly from source to destination, reducing latency and optimizing speed.

DoubleZeroFounder Austin Federa stated that the public internet is a bottleneck for crypto, as it was not designed for distributed consensus protocols, but is congested by common traffic such as gaming and streaming. He remarked:

"Public internet was never built for high-performance systems. It is only suitable for a large server communicating with a small server."

The launch of the DoubleZero high-speed network dedicated to blockchain shows that the crypto industry is shifting away from reliance on the public internet.

In addition, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a no-action letter regarding the issuance of tokens by DoubleZero, paving the way for the native token to launch to the public. The SEC confirmed: DePIN tokens are not stocks or promises of profit from the efforts of others, but rewards for work or services.
