Gold Financial reported that Stable.com, founded by former Consensys employee Jack Jia, has launched a new 1:1 backed stablecoin called USD3. It plans to go live on Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, and Linea. USD3 aims to provide developers and businesses with interoperable transaction methods and streamline the integration of decentralized applications (DApps).
CEO Jia, in an interview, stated that Stable.com is a regulated financial institution in the United States with a comprehensive compliance plan developed by industry veterans. USD3 will always be backed by one-to-one US dollars or equivalent cash, and regular internal and external audits will be conducted to ensure transparency and compliance.
Although the global regulatory environment is gradually improving, the regulation of stablecoins and cryptocurrencies is still not clear enough. Jia and CEO Jamal Rees of Union believe that a strong and clear regulatory framework is crucial for the long-term success of stablecoins.
