On April 23, Warren Buffett now swallowed almost 5% of the entire U.S. Treasury market, locking in $300.87 billion worth of short-term U.S. debt through Berkshire Hathaway. This is based on data published in the company’s most recent financial disclosure. This large sum of Treasuries gives Buffett a 4.89% share of the entire U.S. Treasury market. As of the end of March 2025, the total size of the U.S. Treasury is $6.15 trillion, which means that for every $20 of the $20 Treasury bonds in circulation, $1 belongs to him. This report, which comes from a Berkshire Hathaway document, shows Buffett’s firm stance on security and liquidity. According to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Monthly Report on Public Debt, the U.S. Treasury market as a whole stood at $6.15 trillion at the end of March, which is the basis for calculating the 4.89% share. Currently, Warren Buffett holds even more US Treasuries than the Federal Reserve, which currently holds just over $195 billion. (Golden Ten)
