The iShares Bitcoin Trust (referred to as IBIT) issued by Blackrock is currently one of the largest spot Bitcoin ETFs. Since its approval in January 2024, it has managed over 700,000 Bitcoins and has assets nearing $9 billion, growing at a pace far exceeding that of traditional commodity ETFs.
In 2025, the price of Bitcoin soared to $123,153.22, setting a new record. Although it experienced a slight pullback, recent market trends were influenced by the review of the pro-crypto bill in the United States and large institutional purchases of the Blackrock Bitcoin ETF.
Blackrock ETF net inflows reached as high as 118 million dollars in a single day, boosting market depth and activity, and reducing extreme price volatility. As institutional investors become more recognized, it drives more traditional financial giants to enter the cryptocurrency market, promoting the market’s maturation.
ETF reduces the participation threshold for retail investors, alleviating the pressure of private key custody, but policy changes and extreme market conditions may trigger market volatility and premium risks. It is recommended that investors adopt dollar-cost averaging and arbitrage strategies while monitoring regulatory and market risks, and proceed with caution.
