Trump Accuses Iran of Using AI to Fabricate False Military Information, FCC Reviews Related Media Licenses

Gate News reports that on March 16, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social accusing Iran of using AI technology to create false military information. Trump stated that Iran has long been skilled in media manipulation and public relations, and now they are using AI as a new tool for disinformation.

Trump listed three specific cases: First, Iran displayed fake images of suicide drone attacks on ships, but these drones do not actually exist; second, regarding the incident reported by The Wall Street Journal and other media about five U.S. refueling aircraft being shot down, Trump said that except for one new aircraft, the rest have been restored to service; third, Iran collaborated with media to produce AI-generated images of the aircraft carrier “Abraham Lincoln” burning at sea, but the ship was not actually attacked.

Trump also revealed that FCC Chairman Brendan Carr is reviewing the broadcast licenses of some news organizations.
