Gate News, March 25 — Pump.fun co-founder alon announced on the X platform that the platform has updated its fee mechanism to address malicious manipulation issues in token issuance. Previously, each token issued on pump.fun was associated with a Coin Admin who could freely change the fee recipient and distribution method, leading to manipulative behaviors: creators would initially set fees to redirect to others, then, once the token gained popularity, transfer the fees back to their own wallets, harming user interests. After the update, all tokens default to standard creator fees (excluding rebate tokens), and creators have only one chance to redirect the fees to another wallet. After that, the fee settings will be locked. If creators do not use this opportunity, they can reconfigure the fees later when needed. Fees for tokens with existing allocated fees will be locked, while existing standard-fee tokens will have one opportunity to change their fees.
