BlockBeats news. March 30, Midnight, a privacy blockchain network supported by Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, has officially launched its mainnet, aiming to provide end-to-end programmable privacy protection.

The network’s core architecture includes a hybrid ledger architecture, client-side zero-knowledge proofs, privacy and non-privacy assets (Shielded & Unshielded Assets), and selective disclosure functionality. Midnight uses a dual-token economic model: NIGHT is a governance and utility token used to generate network resources DUST; DUST is used to pay transaction fees, using a “battery”-like regenerative model. In addition, the network uses Compact, a TypeScript-based development language, with the goal of lowering the development barrier for zero-knowledge proof technology.

So far, the network has launched its initial stage. Partners including Google Cloud, MoneyGram, Worldpay, Bullish, Pairpoint under Vodafone, eToro, AlphaTON Capital, Blockdaemon, and Shielded Technologies are running as federation nodes, and later will gradually transition to a decentralized stage.
