Billionaires around the world have lost nearly $500 billion within two days of the tariff announcement.

On April 5, the aftershocks caused by President Trump’s tariff statements continued to disrupt global markets, with the Bloomberg Billionaires Index recording the largest two-day loss ever for the world’s 500 richest people, nearing $500 billion. Mark Zuckerberg was hit hardest, with his Social Web company’s stock price falling 10%, resulting in a loss of $17.9 billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos followed closely behind, with a net worth decrease of $15.9 billion.
