On April 5, Jin10 reported that in response to the recent imposition of so-called “reciprocal tariffs” by the U.S., China launched 11 arrows in unison and resolutely countered with decisive actions. The one-time imposition of a 34% tariff on the U.S. is intended to clearly indicate that it is impossible for us to refrain from retaliating and to swallow the bitter fruit of damage to our own development interests; on the other hand, it also conveys an attitude to the international community that China will not hesitate to counter unilateral bullying behaviors that violate international rules. This counteraction is both forceful and swift. Such speed indicates that we are well-prepared in advance, fighting a battle with preparations, and we have sufficient tools and measures for countering the U.S. There are no winners in a tariff war or a trade war. The essence of China-U.S. economic and trade relations is mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. True “reciprocity” means returning to the correct track of mutual respect and cooperation for win-win outcomes. If the U.S. continues to abuse the tariff stick, the one that will pay the most severe price will only be the United States itself.

China's countermeasures against the U.S. equivalent tariffs are justified and stronger.
