The London police have partnered with law firms to launch a civil encryption asset recovery program.

The London police in the UK have partnered with law firm Gowling WLG to launch a civil asset recovery scheme. This scheme specifically targets cases where criminal prosecution is not possible, offering victims of crypto assets fraud a chance to recover their assets. Previously, the UK police successfully recovered £520,000 (approximately $671,000) worth of stolen crypto assets for an 80-year-old man in a pilot project. This recovery action benefited from updates to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, which granted the police the power to freeze stolen digital assets. (Decrypt)
