Reuters: The Chinese Central Bank has instructed state-owned banks to temporarily suspend their own foreign exchange purchasing and strengthen the review of customer foreign exchange purchasing. The Central Bank will not use a significant depreciation of the RMB to offset the impact of U.S. tariffs. Chinese state-owned banks are providing USD liquidity in the spot market to help ease the fall of the RMB.
