[UK Financial Conduct Authority Reappoints Nikhil Rathi as CEO] According to CoinDesk, Nikhil Rathi, the CEO of the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has been reappointed. Rathi is the first FCA CEO to be granted a new five-year term by the Treasury, allowing him more time to implement his plans for the financial sector, including in the Crypto Assets space. Under his leadership, the FCA has registered 51 crypto companies under AML rules. Some of these companies include crypto and investment firms CEX, Revolut, eToro, and the recently joined largest asset management firm BlackRock. The FCA is seeking to establish a new Crypto Assets regulatory framework by 2026 and introduce a brand new authorization process. The agency intends to publish documents regarding stablecoins, trading platforms, staking, prudent Crypto Assets exposure, and lending early next year.
