The Ministry of Finance of Slovenia proposes a tax on personal income in cryptocurrencies

Slovenia’s Ministry of Finance Proposes to Tax Crypto Personal Income Slovenia’s Ministry of Finance is seeking a 25% tax on profits earned by individuals from the disposal of crypto assets. The proposal, released on Thursday, aims to close a loophole in the country’s tax system, which taxes commercial income from cryptoasset transactions but exempts natural persons from buying and selling crypto assets as investments. The deadline for comments on proposals is 5 May. If approved by Parliament, it is expected to come into force on 1 January 2026.
