The Shropshire County police reported that a financial crime was committed by Desmond Rodgers (Desmond Rodgers), who served as treasurer from 2018 to 2023 and controlled the financial activities of church organizations, systematically withdrawing money from their bank accounts. According to the police, the total amount of stolen funds was approximately £170,900 ($225,500).

Rogers confessed to the authorities that he himself became a victim of cryptocurrency Rug Pull, believing in the promises of high returns from investments in digital currency. The money he transferred to participate in the cryptocurrency scheme was stolen by fraudsters.
