Information about XTZ
Tezos (XTZ) is a blockchain platform designed for launching and supporting decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts, utilizing a unique decentralized governance system based on the Proof-of-Stake (Proof-of-Stake, PoS) algorithm.
The mechanism of Tezos is based on Liquid Proof-of-Stake (LPoS), a unique version of PoS that only Tezos uses. Participants in the network with more than 6000 XTZ can become delegates or “bakers” by producing new blocks and confirming existing ones. Tezos smart contracts are written in the Michelson programming language. To perform transactions on the network, gas is used, which is paid for in the XTZ cryptocurrency.
XTZ is the native token of the platform, which has several uses: it serves as a reward for participating in the mining process or delegating tokens, is used for voting in the Tezos decentralized governance system, and also functions as a means of value transfer.
