On December 5, the US national debt officially crossed the $30 trillion mark—the exact figure is $30.2 trillion.

Looking back at the records, from 2018 to now, this number has more than doubled. According to the latest data released by the Treasury in November, the sum of treasury bills, medium-term bonds, and long-term bonds has already piled up to this astronomical figure.

To be honest, this rate of increase is quite staggering. Keep in mind, the debt size has doubled in just a few years, which reflects what’s happening behind the scenes: massive liquidity injections during the pandemic, ongoing investment in infrastructure plans, and the combined effects of various stimulus policies.

For those of us watching the markets, this is far more than just a numbers game. The expansion of the US debt often comes with subtle changes in the credibility of the US dollar, and these changes eventually ripple through to all kinds of asset pricing—including crypto assets.

$30 trillion already. The Fed's money printer really hasn't stopped. How can our coins not go up? US Treasury explosion and dollar devaluation—this round of inflation expectations is ingrained in our DNA. Hold coins and wait for the rise. Double again? We’ll have to go through it once more—let’s see who collapses first. If this keeps up, in the end we’ll still have to rely on on-chain assets to survive. These numbers for US Treasuries show that the traditional financial system has really reached its limit.

U.S. national debt has reached $30 trillion... so fast? Feels like it doubled in just a few years, that's a real decline.

It’s really happening this time. 30 trillion just flipped like that. The Fed’s money printer is probably red-hot by now.

30 trillion? Oh my, the US is playing with fire here—they’ll have to pay for this sooner or later. The US debt explosion is real, and the crypto world has already felt the effects of the shrinking dollar. The doubling speed is insane—just imagine how much liquidity is being released behind the scenes. We need to think this through—what does this US debt situation mean for the crypto market? Wait, are they going to print more money again? That means my coins are going to get diluted, right? With debt piling up like this, they’ll eventually need an outlet—crypto might just be that outlet.
