# Using full position correctly makes risk more controllable

A trading screenshot on a mobile phone shows someone with a 10,000 USDT account opening 10x leverage and going all-in. A 3% pullback wiped out the position. Looking at the record, 95% of the principal was fully invested, with no stop-loss set at all. This is the most common trap for crypto beginners—treating full position as "gambling for life." In reality, the difference between full position and liquidation is just a matter of position management.

Many people blame leverage for liquidation, but the real killer is position size.

### Position size is the first line of defense.

With the same 1000 USDT account: if you open 10x with 900 USDT, a 5% adverse move will directly wipe you out; but with 100 USDT at 10x, you need a 50% move against you to be liquidated. What's the difference? The size of the position determines how deadly leverage can be. The trader with 95% of their funds in a position, under 10x leverage, will be wiped out by even slight fluctuations.

### Three ironclad rules, I haven't had a liquidation in half a year and I doubled my account

**First rule: Never risk more than 20% of total funds on a single trade**
For a 10,000 USDT account, open at most 2,000 USDT in one trade. Even with a 10% stop-loss, only 200 USDT is lost, leaving the principal intact and maintaining a chance to rebound. Don't be greedy; longevity depends on moderation.

**Second rule: The maximum loss per trade is 3% of total funds**
With a 2,000 USDT position at 10x leverage, set a 1.5% stop-loss, risking 300 USDT, which is exactly 3% of total funds. Even losing ten times, the principal remains safe, keeping your mindset stable.

**Third rule: Observe during sideways markets, do not chase profits**
Only trade when there's a clear breakout trend. During sideways consolidation, stay on the sidelines. Once in a position, set a stop-loss and never add more funds, avoiding emotional trading.

### The true nature of full position

The original purpose of full position design is to leave room for volatility. The core secret is to use light positions for trial and error with strict risk control, not to go all-in gambling. A friend used to blow up his account every month, but after following these three rules for three months, his account grew from 5,000 USDT to 8,000 USDT. He said he used to fear full position as gambling for life, but now he understands it’s actually about staying safer.

In the crypto world, there’s no such thing as instant wealth. It’s never about who makes money faster, but who survives longer.

95% position with 10x leverage and still no stop loss? This isn't gambling, it's giving away money. No wonder it blew up at 3%.

That's right, it's just that position management wasn't handled well, and now you're blaming leverage. Who's to blame?

Based on on-chain risk data, this position management model actually reinterprets the Kelly criterion—it's worth noting that the 20% single trade cap precisely corresponds to the inflection point of the bankruptcy probability curve. From the perspective of governance proposals, the real issue is not leverage itself, but the lack of self-discipline incentive mechanisms for participants... As discussed in Chapter 3.2 of the white paper, the fragility of any financial system stems from incentive incompatibility, and this is also true here—liquidators never have the motivation to execute stop-losses because their mental accounts have been overwhelmed by emotions.

Opening 95% position with 10x leverage and no stop-loss? This guy probably wants to experience the thrill of liquidation. LOL

Putting 95% of your funds into a position is basically asking for death; no wonder it exploded so quickly.

Wow, really? 95% full position and still dare to open 10x leverage? This isn't gambling, it's pure luck.
