According to Edaily, South Korea's largest payment infrastructure provider BC Card has partnered with Base to jointly promote a pilot of local payments in South Korea based on the US dollar stablecoin USDC. The two parties plan to connect Coinbase's Base chain wallet with BC Card's QR payment system to test USDC payments at Korean merchants and settle in Korean won, in order to evaluate compliance, interoperability, and the feasibility of actual implementation.
