BNB Chain recently completed the Fermi hard fork upgrade. This update optimized block generation speed from 0.75 seconds to 0.45 seconds, nearly doubling efficiency. Transaction confirmation speeds have improved significantly, on-chain application responsiveness is more agile, and transfer experiences are much smoother. Even during peak congestion, it can handle the load with ease.

This is just the appetizer. The BNB 2026 expansion plan has more moves, targeting near-instant transaction settlement, massive throughput capacity, and on-chain/off-chain hybrid computing solutions. Based on current performance, BNB Chain has secured a position in the top five fastest blockchains worldwide, second only to a well-known high-speed chain. However, to be honest, transaction costs still face some pressure, with competitors offering slightly cheaper options.

Regarding pricing, recently a leading high-speed chain has seen a stronger upward trend, while BNB has performed relatively modestly. But don’t forget, performance upgrades and developer ecosystem flexibility are key to long-term competitiveness. In the coming months, BNB Chain’s technological progress and market performance are worth watching.

Doubling the speed sounds great, but the gas fees still hurt. When will we catch up with those cheaper chains?

0.45 seconds is really impressive, but the gas fee still hurts a bit. When will it come down?

0.45 seconds, now that's something. But the fees are still a bit painful. When can we compete with those cheap public chains?

The speed has increased, but the gas fees still haven't decreased. This is the real pain point, right?

It's much faster now, but the gas fees still hurt a bit.

The speed has improved a lot, but the gas fee still needs further optimization.

0.45 seconds? Honestly, it still depends on whether the gas fee can be reduced. If it’s faster but the fee is high, it’s useless.

actually, 0.45s block times sound nice on paper but have you thought through the cryptographic primitives they're using? half the time these speed bumps come with questionable trust assumptions baked in...
