Animoca Brands recently completed the acquisition of game developer SOMO. SOMO has been exploring new ways to utilize digital assets—making NFTs not just static collectibles, but truly playable, viewable, and tradable game assets. Its three notable products are: SOMO Codex, responsible for asset encoding and management; SOMO Duel, a competitive battle game; and the flagship SOMO Battleground, a large-scale strategy game. After this acquisition, Animoca Brands plans to leverage its resources within the Web3 ecosystem to provide a stronger distribution channel and community foundation for SOMO's product line, further promoting the commercialization of on-chain gaming.

Animoca is starting to integrate again, but can these three SOMO games really be played? Let's wait and see. --- The direction of assetizing NFT games is correct, but I'm worried it might just be another scam to cut leeks. --- Codex, Duel, Battleground, sound good, but does having a strong distribution channel guarantee success? Content is the key, after all. --- Can resource stacking save chain games? Honestly, I am a bit pessimistic. --- After SOMO was acquired by Animoca, will it just become a tool for cashing out? I'm a bit worried. --- This acquisition feels okay this time, at least it's not another vapor project. Looking forward to the actual product performance. --- I've heard the promise of making NFTs truly playable too many times. Take it with a grain of salt.

Well, Animoca has really taken down SOMO this time, finally someone has figured out how to play NFT properly. SOMO Battleground feels promising; large-scale strategies need to be supported by an ecosystem. When will we see a time when we can make money without just cutting the leeks? It would be great if Animoca could really provide channels; otherwise, it might just be another abandoned project. Let's wait and see how the implementation goes; there are many projects with nice slogans. As for acquisitions... probably another surprise coin will pop up. Web3 ecosystem accumulation? Well, it's still a bit superficial, but...

Honestly, this move by Animoca is quite interesting. At least someone is taking NFT games seriously. But can Battleground really become popular, or is it just another hype? The combination of SOMO's three products feels promising. Stacking resources can work, but the key is having good games; otherwise, it's all in vain. Why do I always feel that these kinds of acquisitions often end in failure? The commercialization of blockchain games has been talked about for years, but only a few are truly profitable. Codex + Duel + Battleground, a complete lineup—now it all depends on execution.

Animoca's recent acquisitions are quite interesting; finally, someone is saving NFTs from just JPGs. --- SOMO Battleground sounds very hardcore; I'm just worried it might be another scam with a different appearance. --- Codex plus Duel plus Battleground, a combined strike that looks promising. Let's see if they can really deliver something. --- Honestly, it's still about relying on Animoca's resources to survive. Whether SOMO can withstand the pressure is the key. --- Another large-scale strategy game, another on-chain implementation. Such bold claims—let's wait for the financial report before judging. --- Tradeable game assets sound good, but I'm worried it might just become another synonym for cheat engines. --- No matter how deep the ecosystem is, it can't save a poorly designed game—that's the real test.
