Sometimes you just want to do something very simple. For example, get a membership card, open a bank account, rent a car. You know that the other party needs to verify who you are, and you can understand that this is part of the rules. But you always feel a bit uncomfortable: why should I give my ID card, photos, and even biometric information, completely to a system I don't know and cannot control?
