While the broader SaaS sector faced another rough trading session, certain plays managed to hold their ground or even post modest gains—AXON, TOST, IOT, and TTAN stayed relatively resilient. Worth examining why.

These names share some common defensive traits. First, they've built deep vertical integration into their operations, meaning they control multiple layers of their value chains. Second, there's genuine fintech-hardware synthesis happening—they're not purely software plays that can be commoditized overnight. And crucially, their core user experiences involve human relationships and context that large language models struggle to replicate at scale.

The AI narrative doesn't have to be a death sentence for these businesses. In fact, it could become a tailwind if deployed thoughtfully—augmenting their existing advantages rather than automating them away. At worst, AI becomes background noise rather than an existential threat.

Caveat: valuations remain stretched across the board.

Good morning, all nocturnal creatures. I've seen this routine too many times. Vertical integration, humanized moat, AI as background music... Basically, it's just playing dead in a liquidity trap, waiting to be drained by the next wave of bloodsucking in the robot paradise. AXONs have survived until now by relying on those "human touch" aspects that AI can't handle— but the problem is, AI sees through the overinflated valuations clearly.

The vertical integration strategy is indeed resistant to manipulation, but the valuation ceiling is right there, so these stocks can't go too high.

AI is not a cure-all; these resilient stocks have actually seen through that.

Vertical integration is indeed resistant to attacks, but the valuation is really outrageous... Buying at this price level? I think it's risky.

lol the "valuations remain stretched" caveat is doing a lot of heavy lifting here... basically saying these plays have moat but we're still overpaying? classic. the vertical integration angle is legit tho, hard to short something that actually controls their own destiny

No matter how strong AI-generated content is, it still needs real business support. These four tickets are indeed quite capable... The vertical integration approach is not just talk.
