Chinese Meme Dog: Why Did the Momentum Fade - From Explosive Phenomenon to Silence

“The on-chain price surge that lasted only 2 days has already ended,” is the common perception among the community in recent days. Following the Chinese meme dog wave in October last year, these meme tokens sparked another strong surge in January this year on BSC, generating many targets that the community was eager to pursue. However, according to data from GMGN today, these famous meme dogs have all experienced significant corrections. In the past 24 hours, “Wo Ta Ma Lai Le” decreased by 30%, “Lao Zi” dropped 25%, “Ren Sheng K Xian” fell more than 20%, and “Zhu Li Xiao Ni” declined over 40%. No lively party lasts forever, and these meme dogs cool down even faster. The Chinese meme dog wave in October last year started from the National Day holiday and lasted throughout the month, but this time it ended as quickly as that. Where exactly is the problem?

Self-Setting Traps: When Meme Dogs Only Follow CZ and He Yi

This Chinese meme dog wave was initiated by a post from He Yi. On January 1st, He Yi posted on X with the message “2026, Wo Ta Ma Lai Le” to wish a Happy New Year. A week later, the meme with the same name began to surge strongly and was eventually listed on Binance Alpha, creating a lively wave within the Chinese community. This also sparked widespread discussion about the “CZ He Yi Effect” in the crypto world—a set of methods to kickstart meme dogs centered around these two figures on BSC.

Its mechanism is very simple: CZ and He Yi do not need direct instructions, nor do they need to be aware of these targets; from developers to the community and even the Binance Alpha team, everyone will automatically “understand” and act accordingly. The fate of a meme dog is decided in just one post.

Since February 2025, when CZ first interacted with the test token TST on BSC, this model has become clear. After small cycles of meme dogs like CZ’s dog disputes, Dubai narratives, the community has mastered the “social tricks” necessary for a meme dog wave to explode from cold start to peak.

To make money in such an ecosystem culture, politely, you should learn from the leaders; frankly, you should “absolutely not stand upright.” Therefore, a psychological shadow of “following” has accumulated enough to form resistance. Some criticize the BSC ecosystem for “tailing” at all costs, blindly cutting CZ He Yi’s posts, even creating meme dogs like “Mom,” “Dad,” “Lao Zi,” making the segment seem rustic. Crypto blogger Mạch Tổng (X: @Michael_Liu93) bluntly said, “People really don’t want to follow anymore.” Anyway, such polarization greatly affects the unity of the meme dog community on BSC, preventing the capital from consolidating into a unified force. When a community consensus leader cannot be quickly created, meme sentiment will rapidly decline.

External Blood Shortage - Why Isn’t This Meme Dog Getting Global Attention

To sustain a price increase cycle, new buying volume must exceed selling volume. A main reason why this Chinese meme dog wave lacks vitality is the absence of liquidity injection from outside sources. The market cap was mainly driven up by the Chinese community on BSC, without attracting the international community or the Meme Solana community to take over.

The Chinese meme dog wave in October last year had an unprecedented spread. Many major international Meme KOLs posted on X to find ways to join the Chinese community, WeChat groups “dog fighting” suddenly had many foreign members, and this wave also made other chains appear more friendly. Jesse (, who manages Base), invited the Chinese community to build on Base, while Toly (, founder of Solana), and Lily Liu (, chairwoman of the Solana Foundation), promoted the Chinese meme dog “Suo La La” on Solana. The influence spilling out from the rich effect of this Chinese meme dog has transformed into real on-chain buying power, significantly extending the lifespan of the October wave.

However, the Chinese meme dog wave in January this year did not have such external diffusion, still revolving around CZ He Yi’s post. The only meme dog with some external influence was Ren Sheng K Xian (, reported by international media on 1/3), but it was quickly overshadowed after “Wo Ta Ma Lai Le” appeared on Binance Alpha. A clear sign is that when using English language filters on X to search for posts related to famous meme dogs (Wo Ta Ma Lai Le, Lao Zi, Xiao Gu Dong), aside from exchange listings, discussions about them in the English region are quite sparse. This clearly indicates a lack of international liquidity.

From Phenomenon to Bait - When Meme Dogs Become Too Familiar

A ping-pong ball falling from a height, its bounce gradually decreases. The Chinese meme dog itself is no longer an engaging narrative. Odaily once affirmed at the end of October last year that although the wave had ended, the Chinese meme dog would not disappear but would become a fixed category, with periodic peaks.

This also means that if a meme dog only has a Chinese name and some price-boosting logic “a matter of mind,” it certainly won’t last long. From October last year to now, only Binance Life and Hachimi remain as lively Chinese meme dogs, while others like Customer Service Xiao He, Cultivation, Nai Long have disappeared into history.

The main targets of Chinese meme dogs in this wave are all “followers” closely tied to CZ He Yi, unable to escape the halo of these two figures to form an independent culture. Therefore, they will likely be just like any previous meme dogs, lacking the vitality to surpass the price cycle.

When Chinese meme dogs first appeared, all they needed was novelty to push prices up. Now, they have become a fixed category with nothing new. As Chinese meme dogs fully integrate into the Meme BSC cycle, and as the market gradually “masters” this game, the ecosystem will revert to a “fast run” mode. The entire cycle of meme dogs will be accelerated—cold start with “divine decree,” continuous manipulation, rising on Binance Alpha, then ultimately collapsing. This Chinese meme dog wave is just a small part of that automated process.
