The claimed throughput is 100,000 transactions per second with millisecond latency. At the same time, MegaETH maintains full compatibility with Ethereum.
The team aims to create a “world computer” and erase the boundaries between Web2 servers and the distributed ledger, creating a “world computer.” In the test network, developers are already creating video games, prediction markets, and payment applications.
Among investors are venture firm Dragonfly Capital, Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, EigenLayer creator Shriram Kannan, and Helius founder Mert Mumtaz.
Last year, the project operator, MegaLabs, conducted a token sale. Demand significantly exceeded supply: 11,534 wallets contributed $300 million with a fundraising limit of $50 million. For allocation distribution, the team used an unconventional method—analyzing investors’ activity history on social networks.
The MegaETH ecosystem will feature a native yield-bearing stablecoin USDm. Its issuer will be Ethena, and the collateral will be provided by the tokenized BlackRock fund.
Recall that in March 2025, developer with the nickname Gunboats ported the recently sanctioned Tornado Cash mixer to the test network of the MegaETH L2 project.
