Nearly a decade after the 2016 DAO hack, approximately 75,000 unclaimed Ethereum (worth approximately $220 million) is being redeployed to create the TheDAO Security Fund. Co-founder Griff Green announced the donation program, which will stake a large portion of Ethereum and reward security projects through a community-driven mechanism. This initiative repurposed assets from one of Ethereum's early failures, making it a long-term secure source of funding, with new board members including Vitalik Buterin.
