NYC Pension Groups Claim AT&T Violated Securities Law

Abstract generation in progress

Four New York City public pension funds have filed a complaint against AT&T Inc., alleging the company violated securities law by excluding a shareholder proposal from its 2026 proxy materials. The proposal requests that AT&T publicly disclose its Consolidated EEO-1 Report, which details workforce demographics by race, ethnicity, and gender. The pension funds argue that AT&T’s exclusion of the proposal, despite previously disclosing the report voluntarily, constitutes “irreparable” harm to shareholders’ voting rights.
