Cartel Violence & Silver: Is $100 Next?

Silver is trading near $88 after a strong breakout, with momentum building toward the psychological $100 level.
According to analyst Tim Hack, escalating cartel violence in Mexico could threaten global supply. Mexico produces ~202M ounces annually — the largest share worldwide — so even partial disruptions could quickly tighten an already strained market.
Unlike gold, silver’s market is thinner and more sensitive to supply shocks. With industrial demand rising and inventories trending lower, any production hit could accelerate a squeeze.
For now, it’s a risk narrative — but in a tight commodity market, it doesn’t take much to tip the balance.
