X Money is reportedly open for limited testing to external users.

PANews March 5th Report: According to Cointelegraph, Elon Musk’s payment app X Money has opened limited testing to external users this week. The first testers include Hollywood actor William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in Star Trek. Shatner shared a screenshot showing that X Money users can earn cashback through specific purchases, and deposits offer a 6% annualized return. Deposits are insured up to $250,000 by FDIC member Cross River Bank.

X Money is part of Musk’s vision to turn X into a “super app,” integrating features such as payments, private messaging, and AI chat in the future. Shatner used the $42 sent by Musk for a charity auction, where 42 test invitations were sold for $1,000 each, and later added 166 more spots. There are currently no indications that X Money will incorporate crypto payments.

In February, Musk stated that the external beta of X Money would be launched within the next 1-2 months.
