When VIX fills the gap that formed following recent geopolitical shocks, it often serves as a harbinger of market stabilization. In particular, for bitcoin, such dynamics of the fear index can contribute to the formation of a more sustainable local bottom. Although the application of technical analysis to VIX causes discussion among some traders, I am convinced of its effectiveness in identifying key turning points in the cryptocurrency market. Gap filling in the VIX structure often coincides with a transition from panic to rational asset repricing, which is especially relevant for the volatile Bitcoin segment.
