In addition, on the 5th, Trump posted on social media revealing more details about the rescue of the second crew member from the F-15E fighter jet that was shot down in Iran, saying he was “suffering serious injuries.”
Trump said that U.S. forces rescued this crew member deep in Iran’s mountains; this is the second crew member rescued. He is a colonel, suffering serious injuries, and Iran was conducting a large-scale search for him at the time. “The rescue operation for the first crew member (the pilot) was carried out during the day, when U.S. aircraft were flying over Iran for 7 hours.”
He also said that on the 6th at 13:00, a press conference would be held in the White House Oval Office together with the military.

On the 5th, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement saying that, to retaliate for the previous acts of aggression by the U.S. and the Israel-led coalition, on the early morning of the 5th the IRGC Navy and Aerospace Force jointly launched the 96th wave of the “True Promise-4” operation. The statement said that in the first phase of the operation, the IRGC focused on striking Israeli targets and U.S. economic interest facilities belonging to countries in the region.
