Taiwan Q1 Current Account Release: Overview of International Balance of Payments

On November 20, 2025, the central bank of Taiwan Province released the current account data for China Taiwan for the first quarter.The current account is a key indicator measuring the flow of funds between a region and countries worldwide. It encompasses five major components: goods imports and exports, service trade, investment income, and other international transfers, providing a direct reflection of the region’s international balance of payments.The data is reported in hundreds of millions of USD, calculated by aggregating the quarter’s goods imports and exports, service transactions, various income flows, and unilateral transfer receipts and payments. Strong current account figures generally support the performance of the New Taiwan Dollar.This data is classified as importance level 1 and is released quarterly. The next release is scheduled for August 20, 2026.
