Romanian Prime Minister Ciolacu resigns, Social Democratic Party exits ruling coalition.

Jin10 Data May 6th News, the Romanian Social Democratic Party withdrew from the ruling coalition on the 5th, and Prime Minister Ciolacu from the party announced his resignation. Ciolacu stated that the Romanian ruling coalition was formed last December with two goals: to ensure government stability and to elect a candidate capable of winning the Romanian elections, but one of these goals was not achieved. The results of the first round of the presidential election indicate that the current ruling coalition lacks legitimacy. Preliminary vote counting results from the first round of the Romanian presidential election show that the ruling coalition candidate, Clin Antonescu, ranked third by a narrow margin and failed to advance to the second round. Ciolacu stated that members of the Social Democratic Party serving as ministers in the current government would discuss with the coalition to decide whether to temporarily remain in their positions. He also stated that the Social Democratic Party would not support any candidates in the second round of elections.
