The UN Secretary-General calls for all parties involved in the armed conflict in Sudan to cease fire immediately in Fashir.

On August 30, Jin10 reported that on August 29 local time, UN Secretary-General Guterres, through a spokesperson, issued a statement regarding the situation in Sudan, calling for an immediate ceasefire by all parties involved in the Sudan conflict in the city of El Fasher and its surrounding areas in North Darfur. The statement expressed Guterres's shock at the continued attacks by Sudan's Rapid Support Forces on El Fasher, which have resulted in civilian casualties, stating that such actions are a serious violation of international humanitarian law. Guterres urged all parties in the Sudan conflict to cease hostilities immediately and take measures to protect civilians, ensuring their freedom of safe passage and the unimpeded, continuous entry of humanitarian assistance into El Fasher.
