U.S. media: Progress in longer negotiations is smooth, and a ceasefire protocol in Gaza may be reached this week.

On October 9th, Jin10 News reported that multiple sources revealed that officials from the United States, Israel, and Qatar expressed optimism that an agreement to end the Gaza war could be reached this week. Relevant negotiations are taking place in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The focus of the current negotiations involves highly sensitive issues, including the conditions for Israel's withdrawal from Gaza and the list of Palestinian prisoners to be released. Thus, officials from multiple countries agree that it is quite remarkable to finalize an agreement in such a short time. Two White House officials stated that negotiations have made good progress and that an agreement could be reached within days. An Israeli senior official also provided a similar assessment: "There is progress. We feel cautiously optimistic." However, Israeli officials expressed skepticism regarding the Turkish foreign minister's judgment, who claimed that a ceasefire could be announced as early as Wednesday. Sources familiar with the negotiations indicated that the Qatari mediators believe the agreement can be reached by Friday at the latest.
