CV VC, a Swiss blockchain venture capital firm, has released its latest report on venture capital in Africa. The report indicates that Africa received $34.7 million in investments in the first half of 2024, a 74% decrease from $135.4 million in 2023. Although the amount of financing is low, the report states that the trading volume in the region has increased by 9%. Overall, global blockchain financing has also seen a significant decline. The sector secured $10.66 billion in financing in the first half of 2023, but only $5.74 billion in the same period of 2024, a 64% year-on-year decrease.
