Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister: We should jointly drop the tension and prevent the region from 'sliding into war'

Jinshi data, July 31st, local time, July 30th, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Safadi spoke with Lebanese Foreign Minister and Minister of Expatriates Habib. Safadi reiterated Jordan’s support for Lebanon, its citizens, and institutions’ security, and opposed any aggression against Lebanon and its sovereignty. Safadi warned that any escalation by Israel against Lebanon would seriously affect the region’s security and stability. Safadi stressed the need to jointly drop the tension and prevent the region from “sliding into war.” He emphasized the need to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He also emphasized that Israel’s continued attacks on Gaza pose a danger of conflict escalation in the entire region and called for effective international action to promote a ceasefire and demand that Israel comply with international law and legitimacy resolutions. Habib expressed Lebanon’s gratitude to Jordan for its continuous support for Lebanon’s security and stability.
