Peter Brandt: Not optimistic about Bitcoin reaching a new high this year, expecting a retest of $60,000 around September or October.
Jingse Finance reports that on March 31, according to Cointelegraph, the well-known trader and chart analyst Peter Brandt, who successfully predicted the 2018 Bitcoin crash, as well as Polymarket users who forecast Bitcoin’s outlook for a new all-time high in 2026, are both pessimistic. Peter Brandt said: “I don’t think Bitcoin will make a new high in 2026—maybe it’s not until Q2 of 2027.” He also added, “All of this is speculation.” On Polymarket, the probability that Bitcoin will return to $120,000 in 2026 is only 15%. Regarding the year-to-date low, Peter Brandt said that the $60,000 level on February 6 may not be the lowest for the year. He expects that this level could be re-tested in September or October this year, and even “slightly lower.” At that time, it would mark the bottom of the bear-market cycle, from which a new bull market would be set in motion. He also said his long-term thesis on Bitcoin has not changed: “Bitcoin’s story is a store of value, and whether you can build utility on top of Bitcoin could affect price,” and he said he takes a neutral or bearish stance toward all other cryptocurrencies.
