Deep Tide TechFlow News, January 14 — According to Coindesk, Ripple has received preliminary approval for an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license issued by the Luxembourg financial regulator (CSSF), marking an important step in the company's expansion into regulated cryptocurrency and stablecoin payment services within the European Union.

This EMI license will allow Ripple to operate as a passported entity, based in Luxembourg, providing regulated payment services involving stablecoins and other digital assets across the entire EU. Additionally, Ripple is applying for a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) to ensure its operations comply with new regulatory standards.
