Golden Finance reports that on March 27, Apple plans to open Siri to third-party AI assistants in the upcoming iOS 27 operating system update. iOS 27 will introduce a new mechanism called “Extensions,” allowing users to integrate third-party AIs such as Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude into Siri through the settings panel. Extensions are a set of standard protocols that any qualifying AI application can connect to. Siri will transition from being a single entry point for ChatGPT to a universal AI routing layer.
