Tether hires KPMG to audit USDT

According to a report by Jinse Finance on March 27, Tether, the issuer of the stablecoin USDT, has selected KPMG as its auditing firm and hired PwC to assist in improving its internal systems. This move is the clearest signal that Tether is moving towards a comprehensive financial statement audit, which will go beyond the current monthly reserve attestations published by BDO Italia, providing a full review of assets, liabilities, controls, and reporting processes.
Previously, Tether announced that it had engaged one of the Big Four accounting firms to conduct an audit of its operations, but at that time did not disclose the specific firm’s name.
