O Golden Finance reported that on January 14th, local time, US President-elect Trump requested the Federal Appeals Court to reconsider his defamation case against writer Carroll, attempting to overturn the jury’s previous verdict. Previously, the jury ruled that Trump’s defamation of writer Carroll after sexually assaulting her in the mid-1990s was established, and ordered Trump to pay Carroll $5 million in compensation. Trump’s lawyer has requested all judges of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals to hear the case, stating that the court made errors in the admission of relevant evidence during the trial, which may have adverse effects on future cases. If this request is not approved, Trump may further seek the Supreme Court’s review.
