On April 5, in response to the so-called “reciprocal tariffs” imposed by the United States recently, China fired 11 arrows to resolutely counteract and act decisively. The one-time imposition of a 34% tariff on the United States is, on the one hand, to make it clear that it is impossible for us to fight back and swallow the bitter fruit that harms our own development interests. On the other hand, it is also to convey to the international community that China will not hesitate to take action against unilateral bullying that violates international rules. This countermeasure is more vigorous and faster. Such a speed means that we have made full preparations in advance, fought a prepared battle, and have sufficient tools and measures to counter the United States. There are no winners in tariff wars and trade wars. The essence of China-US economic and trade relations is mutual benefit and win-win results, and true “reciprocity” is to return to the right track of mutual respect and win-win cooperation. If the US continues to abuse the tariff stick, it will only be the US itself that will pay the heaviest price.
