Apollo’s chief economist, Torsten Slok, stated that the lower-than-expected inflation data and strong unemployment report are good news for The Federal Reserve (FED), as there has not yet been any “unexpected rise in inflation.” “But clearly, we are still preparing to impose tariffs, and the remaining issues regarding tariffs could still increase the inflation rate by up to one percentage point in the next 12 months.”
