Jin10 data reported on April 11 that the International Energy Agency released a report on the 10th stating that by 2030, the global power demand of data centers is expected to rise more than double, with artificial intelligence becoming the main driving force behind this surge in electricity consumption. The report suggests that to meet the rapidly growing power demand of data centers, various energy sources will be utilized globally, with renewable energy and natural gas taking a dominant position due to their economic advantages and supply convenience. The report also mentioned that artificial intelligence has a dual impact on the energy sector; on one hand, it may bring some pressures on energy security; on the other hand, artificial intelligence also has great potential in helping the energy industry achieve technological innovation and emission reduction.
