Trump claims that Iran has met most of the 15 ceasefire requirements set by the U.S.

Gate News message: On March 30, Trump told reporters on the U.S. Air Force One aircraft during a local Sunday (March 29), that Iran has “met” “most” of the 15 ceasefire demands the U.S. had previously put forward to Tehran, although it is still unclear whether the two sides are actually holding substantive talks at this time. He said: “They have met most of our key points. Why wouldn’t they do that? We will put forward a few other demands.” But he refused to disclose which specific concessions Iran has made. On the record, Iran has clearly rejected a list of the 15 ceasefire conditions and instead put forward five of its own prerequisite conditions, including full control over the sovereignty of the Strait of Hormuz. Last weekend, officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey met in an effort to find a way forward for the conflict, but there are currently no signs that the talks have made substantive progress. After meeting with their counterparts from various countries, Pakistan’s foreign minister said: “Both Iran and the United States have said they trust Pakistan and are willing for Pakistan to host the follow-up talks.” However, neither side has indicated that it is ready for direct dialogue.
